"...and as your days, so is your strength." Deuteronomy 33:25
I spent the afternoon helping my sixth-grade son write an essay.... I can think of other things I would rather do. I'm sure he could, too. However, we pushed on and through and finished a rough (rough!) draft of more than 700 words.
Writing is one of those things we wish we could do better, yet put off actually taking pencil in hand or putting fingers to the keyboard. But, the old advice is true - a writer writes. It's the only way for anyone, including my 11 year-old, to understand what writing is.
But, wow, how the minutes seemed to drag. So many times, I wanted to give him the words instead of waiting for him to work it out. I was wrung out by the time we finished. And that was just one of the tasks for today. (Who thought it was a good idea to put our house up for sale a month before Christmas??)
Thank you for giving us the strength we need, as we need it, to accomplish what felt impossible. As some Egyptians did with the manna from heaven, forgive me for wanting to hoard the strength You provide. Forgive me for worrying if there will be enough for tomorrow. I claim Your strength for today knowing that I can do the same again. Thank you. Amen.
